  • Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) — Publicly endorsed BDS and voted against H.Res.246, the House resolution condemning the movement. She has defended "the right to boycott the racist policies of the government and the state of Israel." [The Forward]
  • Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) — Publicly endorsed BDS, co-sponsored a resolution affirming the right to boycott Israel, and voted against H.Res.246. [The Forward]
  • Jeremy Corbyn (former UK Labour Party leader) — The UK's Equality and Human Rights Commission, a government body, found the Labour Party under his leadership acted unlawfully over antisemitism, citing political interference in complaints and 23 instances of "inappropriate involvement" by his office. He was suspended from Labour after saying the scale of antisemitism had been "dramatically overstated." [BBC]

Voted against condemning BDS (H.Res.246, July 2019)

The House passed H.Res.246, a resolution condemning the BDS movement, by 398–17. Alongside Tlaib and Omar, these House Democrats voted against it: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Earl Blumenauer (OR), André Carson (IN), Debbie Dingell (MI), Jesús "Chuy" García (IL), Pramila Jayapal (WA), Barbara Lee (CA), Betty McCollum (MN), Gwen Moore (WI), Chellie Pingree (ME), Mark Pocan (WI), Bobby Rush (IL), and Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ). For accuracy: Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) also voted no, but on free-speech grounds. We don't include him — that's a different position than the ones this list documents.

Where Galil stands

Our opinion: Two members of Congress made a point of endorsing a movement to boycott the world's only Jewish state, and more than a dozen colleagues voted against even condemning it. We don't stand with any of them. The facts are above; the take is ours.
