September 2025: On 15 September 2025, at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim publicly called on all countries to sever diplomatic and trade relations with Israel, describing its stance on Palestinian statehood as "a declaration of permanent apartheid."
Diplomatic engagements must cease, and so must trade relations. Condemnations will not stop the missiles. Declarations will not free Palestine. Severe punitive actions must be put in place." / "Israel has declared that there will never be a Palestinian state. Let us be clear: this is a declaration of permanent apartheid.

Where Galil stands
Our opinion: We don't stand with calls to sever all ties with Israel and brand it "permanent apartheid" while staying silent on October 7 and the hostages — that's not peacemaking, it's one-sided isolation.
