- February 2019 — Tweeted “It’s all about the Benjamins baby” about pro-Israel campaign money, naming “AIPAC!” when asked who was paying members of Congress; House Democratic leaders called it an antisemitic money trope. [CNN]

The context
Omar apologized “unequivocally” for the 2019 tweet the next day, deleted the posts, and said she was learning “the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes,” while maintaining her criticism of AIPAC lobbying. We include that for accuracy.
