Documented record

  • December 15, 2013: In a December 15, 2013 Mondoweiss essay, American Indian studies scholar Steven Salaita wrote that the academic boycott of Israel 'isn't about "the Jews"' but about the "racism Zionists visit on Palestinians," and in 2016 he added his name (signatory #371) to the open letter urging the Modern Language Association to adopt a resolution endorsing the academic boycott of Israeli institutions. Enough with the nonsense: boycott of Israeli academic institutions isn't about "the Jews." It's about the racism Zionists visit on Palestinians in the name of the Jewish people, using the imprimatur of cultural autonomy to justify settler colonization. Source 1 Source 2

Where Galil stands

Our opinion: We don't stand with academics who campaign to boycott and isolate Israeli universities and colleagues based on nationality alone.
