Massive Attack: On the Record

Massive Attack joined No Music for Genocide by seeking to geo-block its music in Israel. Separately, the band asked its label to remove its catalogue from Spotify worldwide over Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek’s investment in military-AI company Helsing.

On the record

  • September 2025 — Joined No Music for Genocide and sought to have its catalogue geo-blocked in Israel. In a separate statement, expressly described as unconnected to that campaign, the band asked its label to remove its music from Spotify worldwide because of Daniel Ek’s investment in Helsing. Where Galil stands

Our opinion: Galil opposes the band’s decision to geo-block its music in Israel. Its separate worldwide Spotify request concerned Daniel Ek’s investment in military technology and should not be attributed to the Israel boycott.
