August 2024: On 2 August 2024, King's College London's Students' Union announced that the university had agreed, following student-led negotiations over the Gaza war, to revise its investment policy to no longer hold direct or indirect (via pooled funds) investments in companies — including Lockheed Martin, L3Harris Technologies, and Boeing — deemed engaged in controversial weapons, with formal adoption due at KCL's October 2024 investment committee meeting.
The university will not hold any direct or indirect (via pooled funds) investments in companies deemed to be engaged in controversial weapons.

Context and response
KCL declined the students' further, broader demand to also cut indirect investments in banks/funds (e.g., BlackRock) that finance Israel-linked companies, limiting the divestment specifically to controversial-weapons manufacturers rather than a full boycott.
Where Galil stands
Our opinion: We don't stand with institutions that use their endowment to divest from the defense suppliers Israel's security depends on.
