July 31, 2017: On July 31, 2017, Hatem Bazian — a UC Berkeley Ethnic Studies lecturer, co-founder of Students for Justice in Palestine, and prominent campus BDS advocate — retweeted an image of a Hasidic Jewish man captioned with a blood-libel/ethnic-slur meme tagged "#Ashke-Nazi," which UC Berkeley's administration publicly said "clearly crossed the line."
