• November 28, 2024: On November 28, 2024, while accepting the Best Album award for "Romance" at the Rolling Stone UK Awards, Fontaines D.C. guitarist Carlos O'Connell condemned Israeli PM Netanyahu and "Zionism" from the stage; this followed the band's August 2024 cancellation of a scheduled Istanbul concert, stated explicitly to be in solidarity with the BDS movement's call to boycott the venue's owner over its energy-supply ties to Israel. Where Galil stands

Our opinion: We don't stand with acts that cancel shows, curse "Zionism" from an awards stage, and join streaming boycotts against Israel while never once naming Hamas's October 7 massacre or the hostages still held.
