October 8, 2025: On October 8, 2025, Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie told The Big Issue — ahead of headlining the October 17, 2025 "Gig for Gaza" benefit concert at London's Troxy for Medical Aid for Palestinians and Gaza Forever — that Israel's "brutal occupation is what guarantees the peace, the western-style lifestyle that people in Israel have," and that ordinary Israelis "keep voting in right-wing governments" with "nothing" changing "on the ground in Palestine."
The ordinary people in Israel keep voting in right-wing governments, or even so-called centrist governments. Nothing changes on the ground in Palestine... A brutal occupation is what guarantees the peace, the western-style lifestyle that people in Israel have.
