A number of U.S. academic and professional associations have formally voted to boycott Israeli academic institutions.

  • December 2013American Studies Association (ASA) — members voted (about 66%) to endorse the boycott. [ASA]

  • 2023American Anthropological Association (AAA) — members voted to boycott Israeli academic institutions. [JTA]
  • VariousMiddle East Studies Association (MESA), the African Literature Association, Association for Humanist Sociology, Critical Ethnic Studies Association, National Association of Chicana and Chicano Studies, Native American and Indigenous Studies Association, the Peace and Justice Studies Association, and the labor locals UAW 2865 and UAW 2110 (GSOC) have all endorsed the academic boycott of Israel.
